well he was great if you ask me.not sure if better then reeves or not but he was very very good!!
and i loved the new move!!specially when that dude with a huge machine gun starts to fire at security men,you see bullets fly in slow motion, and then you see superman fly behind them and then bullets start bounce of off from his chest!!damn thats one of the best superman scenes ever!!
PS:i think tom is not a good superman!but i love the Martian Manhunter!i think now he is the coolest in smallville
This is great... I thought Brandon Routh did a great job. When he first walked into the Daily Planet I was amazed at how much he looked like Christopher Reeve. He's no replacement, but I don't think they could have possibly casted anyone better. Kevin Spacey is always oddly superb at being evil, and even managed to look a little like a bald Gene Hackman. In my opinion the weakest character was Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane.
And I'm off on a tangent... Anyway, I love this piece!
There were parts in the movie where he reminded me a lot of Christopher Reeve in the original movies.. The one thing I didn't like was Lex Luthor - Spacey did a great job but ever since Smallville came out, I've been kinda partial to that Lex! overall I was impressed with the movie.
Like I said on your Indy piece you always capture your subjects just right! The shading on this one looks great as does his hair.
Oh yes, i hope so. What made the Superman (1978) great besides it's actors (Christopher Reeve, Gene Hackman, Marlon Brando!) was the screenplay credits by Mario Puzo! (Godfather, The Sicilian). A good movie were made of good, convincingly (even it is fantasy in gender) storyline, the far third for me is the visual effects.
